2018 Nissan Leaf - The iconic hatchback becomes even more desirable

The Nissan Leaf has been a car that has changed the fortunes for the Japanese company and by selling almost 400,000 units worldwide it has been one of the main drivers for the electric car segment and is one of the more successful ones. For 2018 though the Leaf has undergone a massive makeover which gives it a more aerodynamic and frankly a more classy appearance compared to the previous generation's bulbous proportions and dull road presence.

From the front the company has given the leaf its own take of the v-motion grill which we see in almost every Nissan stretching from the Versa to the exotic slaying GTR where in the leaf it has a unique blue pattern surrounding it and is completely flat allowing for a more efficient airflow and in turn reducing the drag coefficient of the car. the main components of the car have also been upgraded such as the battery going up to 40 kWh from the previous ones 30 kWh and the range extended to 150 miles rather than 107 miles. these numbers are much less than the competition such as the Tesla model 3 and the Chevrolet bolt but Nissan has plans to offer a more powerful one next year.

All of the drive components have been shifted below the seats to aid in the center of gravity and that makes the car more lively and fun to drive. The leaf is also one of the first cars to come with Nissan's brand new ProPilot system which is their own take on autonomous driving and will allow the car to drive on its own and will avoid accidents. Another very interesting feature of the Nissan Leaf is the E-Pedal feature which acts as an accelerator, brake and a decelerator.

The interior has also been given an upgrade to make it look more classy and understated while at the same time maintaining its functionality. overall though the car seems to be a much better buy than last time and can definitely help Nissan cement itself in the small electric hatchback segment. sales start in spring of 2018 and those lucky enough will get to experience what is probably one of the most influential cars of our times.
